One of the oldest hotels East of the Suez, the Galle Face Hotel was established in 1864. Over the years, the hotel has housed royalty and celebrity.
The North Wing of the iconic hotel was restored during the renovation with modern amenities while keeping the old grandeur intact. The management has taken great care to ensure the spirit of the Hotel remains untouched during the course of the current restoration.
“Subtle modernization was the key word for us when we undertook this ambitious project. Our prime attempt is to enhance the quality of The Galle Face Hotel experience. The Hotel is an integral part of the history and heritage of Sri Lanka, and our plans have been guided by an uncompromising commitment to preserve the unique ambience for our guests to enjoy,” stated the Chairman.
Among those present at the occasion were Ministers John Amaratunga and Arjuna Ranatunga, and Deputy Minister Arundika Fernando and invited guests.
